Logic explanation and reflection on the production of consumption space in Macau Peninsula

Abstract

The urban conservation work under the background of sustainable development attracts great attention of current international industries, and the methods guidance shall be based on the foundation of profound insight and of the phenomenon and thorough analysis. This article deeply analyzed the internal logic of the production of consumption space in Macau Peninsula with the prevail of globalization and consumer culture, and it is considered that the government mainly makes disciplines for institutional space with its own administrative power, and the developers build and control the physical and economic space mainly with capital operation during the production of consumption space. The production of consumption space is established by the mutual effect of both power and capital. Critical reflection is taken on the base of the urban heritage protection concept with all the foundation above.
